Iran Reports 35 Civilian Deaths After Recent US Attacks on Southern Iran
Iran’s Health Ministry says at least 35 civilians have been killed and more than 300 injured in recent US strikes on southern Iran.
Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour said women and children were among those affected, with the provinces of Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchestan, and Khuzestan reportedly hit hardest.
Iranian officials also said US strikes targeted locations in Bushehr province, though local authorities reported no injuries from those attacks.
The strikes come as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to rise. US President Donald Trump said American operations against Iran would intensify, while the US Central Command announced the return of a naval blockade on Iran.
Iran has responded with attacks on what it describes as US military facilities in the region, while some Gulf countries have reported civilian damage. Tehran has also accused Washington of violating a Pakistan-mediated agreement aimed at reducing the conflict.
