Iran Targets US Air Base in Jordan, Urges Removal of American Military Bases
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched ballistic missiles at a US air base in Jordan during the latest phase of its Operation Nasr 2 campaign, claiming the facility was being used to support military operations against Iran.
The IRGC said the targeted base hosted US forces and accused Washington of using the same installation in an earlier attack that it claimed resulted in the deaths of 186 children at a school in Minab.
In its statement, the IRGC stressed that it held no hostility toward the Jordanian people and instead called on them to demand the removal of US military bases from their country and the wider region. It argued that such a move would help improve regional security and support the Palestinian cause.
Meanwhile, Jordan's military said it intercepted four Iranian missiles launched toward its territory. Iranian media also reported powerful explosions near Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in eastern Jordan.
