Sudan RSF Commander Abdel Rahim Dagalo Reportedly Made Secret Visits to Israel
Senior Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Abdel Rahim Dagalo reportedly made several secret visits to Israel, according to Israel’s public broadcaster Kan.
Dagalo, the brother of RSF leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, is one of the paramilitary group’s most senior commanders. The RSF has been fighting Sudan’s armed forces since April 2023.
Kan reported that Dagalo visited Israel on multiple occasions but did not provide details about when the visits took place, their purpose or which Israeli officials he may have met.
The reported visits come amid continuing international scrutiny of the RSF over alleged abuses against civilians during Sudan’s war, including killings, sexual violence and forced displacement, particularly in Darfur.
Dagalo has faced international sanctions linked to allegations surrounding the conflict. Washington has also previously accused RSF members and allied militias of genocide and imposed sanctions on senior figures.
The report has not publicly provided further evidence or details about the alleged Israel visits.
