Syrian security forces have thwarted an attempt to smuggle a shipment of advanced weapons and missiles across the Syrian-Iraqi border, according to state news agency SANA.
An Interior Ministry source said the shipment was allegedly intended for Hezbollah. Authorities intercepted the cargo before it reached its destination as part of ongoing border security operations.
Officials did not disclose the type or quantity of weapons seized, and no information was provided about arrests linked to the operation. Syrian authorities said investigations are continuing.
