A United Nations Commission of Inquiry has concluded that Israeli authorities and forces committed the crime against humanity of age-based persecution against Palestinian children in the occupied West Bank.
The commission said Palestinian children were deliberately killed or subjected to serious physical and mental harm because they were Palestinian children. It found that the pattern of violence was not incidental to wider attacks on civilians and said the absence of accountability had allowed violations to continue.
The report also described discriminatory rules on the use of force in the West Bank, saying they were applied to Palestinians and not in the same way to Israeli citizens living in the territory. It placed the findings within a broader pattern of violence since October 2023.
These are conclusions reached by the commission in its report, rather than a court judgment. The inquiry also referred to its earlier findings concerning Gaza and other alleged violations in the occupied Palestinian territory.
